Workshops
Team Building . . .Tastefully Done
This series of unique team building workshops emphasize the formation of effective communication patterns and creative connections in work groups or teams. The unique media is …food. Participants come together, enjoy a meal, while Rosemarie facilitates dialogue on: Noticing how this process of working together differs from the work environment; Distinguishing the measurable strengths (ingredients) each team member brings to the mix; Identifying key communication patterns; Which ones advance the team towards its goal; Coaching new connections formed and putting into play an action plan for return to the workplace.
Setting Goals for Work/Life Balance
Where are you now and where do you want to be? This class will center on this question, give participants a means for assessing present life satisfactions using the "wheel of life" a personal inventory. Then, participants will be led in making goals that are specific, measurable, action-oriented, realistic, and have a time line (SMART). Strategies for maintaining goal focus will be taught.
Being your Best: Eliminating Energy Drainers
One of the challenges in our hyper-frenetic 21st century work life is not so much to consider what more to add to our lives-but what to eliminate. Often when we can identify what aspects of our lives are draining us of energy and eliminate them, we free up energy to use on new tasks, goals or in our relationships. This workshop teaches how to identify energy drainers and develop a plan to remove them from your life
Dealing with Difficult People
Whether it is the butcher, baker or
person in the office next to ours, we all have encountered those people who trip us up and cause some blood pressure to boil in our everyday lives. This workshop will review some proven strategies for dealing with conflict and confrontation and those "difficult people" in our lives.
"I am Angry - Now What?" Managing and Communicating Anger
Often this is a misunderstood emotion and therefore one that many find hard to manage and express. Anger is not a "bad emotion". The key issue is how often and how much we get angry, and what we do then. When not managed in a healthy manner, the anger response floods our body with stress hormones, weakens our health and usually doesn't solve the problem! This workshop focuses on understanding how to raise the anger threshold (allowing fewer incidents to trigger your anger) and learning skills to help you choose how to react in a healthier (for you!) manner.
Worry Control
Worrying allows us to plan, search for alternatives, rehearse actions, and prepare for negative outcomes. The problem arises when there's too much of a good thing. This workshop will clarify how you know when your anxiety is healthy and normal and when it is not. Proven cognitive behavioral strategies will be given to identify dysfunctional thoughts and reframe thoughts for healthier responses.
Effective Communication and Resolving Differences
This workshop focuses on giving participants skills training in being better communicators: To learn to say what they feel, think and want - more clearly and comfortably. The class also reviews challenges in communication in outlining conflict styles: participants rate their own conflict style through a survey and learn how each style is effective depending on the situation and goal. Strategies to communicate more assertively and resolve differences effectively are discussed.
Mental Floss: Exploring Creative Thought and Action
Fostering our creativity allows us to find new alternatives, opens up more "flexible" thinking and spontaneous thoughts - challenging old structures and opening up new ways of doing things. Research is showing that laughter raises our pain thresholds, reduces stress and enhances immunity. This workshop is experiential and will get participants involved in creative exercises aimed at having fun, lightening up and finding new energies by using different parts of the brain
Developing Wellness and a Healthier Lifestyle
This dynamic workshop offers a template of relating to the world, through compassion, mindfulness practices and ways of understanding, which promote a healthier lifestyle and more open communication with others. Practical strategies for relating to others and promoting everyday health and well-being are given.
